Local News in Brief : 3 Victims in Fatal Crash Identified
Police have identified three men killed in a Pacoima auto accident Friday as Roosevelt Thomas, 31, Frank Jenkins, 41, and Charles Wilcher, 43, all of Pacoima.
A fourth Pacoima man, Berhane Bizuamlak, 35, was in serious condition Saturday night at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, according to a nursing supervisor.
Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mel Cunningham said the four were headed south on Glenoaks Boulevard just north of Osborne Street at 40 to 50 m.p.h. when the car, driven by Bizuamlak, crashed into the back of a parked tractor-trailer truck.
A witness told police the car apparently drove directly into the truck without warning, Cunningham said. The truck, a large trash vehicle, appeared to be parked legally, he said.
