Striking meatpackers said they will mount a protest outside the Geo. A. Hormel & Co. plant in Austin, Minn., when it resumes hog slaughtering Monday for the first time since the strike began in August. Hormel officials said they expect to have all the replacement workers they need by midweek. A spokesman for Local P-9 of the United Food and Commercial Workers said a group of people from Minneapolis and St. Paul will join pickets at the flagship plant.
