15 Suspects in Drug Bust at Serra High School

Share

Police narcotics investigators ended a five-month undercover operation at Serra High School on Thursday and issued arrest warrants for nine students and six adults suspected of selling drugs on or around the campus.

Investigators said the arrests followed the sale of marijuana, LSD and methamphetamines to a San Diego Police Department undercover officer who had enrolled as a student on the Tierrasanta campus. During the investigation, the undercover agent spent $220 to make 24 drug buys, mostly for marijuana, officers said. They said only two of the transactions occurred on campus.

Three of the juveniles were taken to Juvenile Hall and five were released to their parents, investigators said. One student was still being sought.

Adults arrested were Steven Robert Daharsh, 21, on suspicion of one count of selling marijuana; Joseph Lee Foster, 19, two counts of selling marijuana; Patrick Guillermo Jimenez, 22, one count of selling marijuana; Emmet Garza Ozuna, 21, two counts of selling marijuana; John Merton Webber, 20, one count of selling LSD and one count of selling marijuana. James Lloyd Kimo Auld, 20, named in the warrant on two counts of selling marijuana, is already in custody at Chino State Prison on an unrelated charge.

It was the eighth drug raid at a San Diego Unified School District campus in the last two years. The last raid occurred in May, when police arrested 23 students, former students and adults after an investigation at Point Loma High School.

San Diego Police Chief Bill Kolender said that undercover operations have reduced the drug availability on school campuses by 50%.
