Headlights

It seems to be in mode for many people who are driving before the sun is up, after it goes down, and at other times of reduced visibility to proceed down the freeways, highways, etc., without turning on headlights.

There is a popular saying, “My lights don’t do me a bit of good during these times.” That is a most erroneous statement. If you have your headlights on your vehicle can be more readily seen by other drivers and a potential accident can be avoided.

Tests conducted on several stretches of highway in this state have proven that accidents are reduced when vehicles are operated with headlights on, during day and nighttime hours, and during all periods of reduced visibility. Many drivers ignore this prime safety factor and proceed down the road without any illumination whatsoever on their automobiles.

Is it due to not knowing? How about not caring? Can’t these drivers see the vehicles with lights on much better than the ones, that like themselves, are driving with lights out?
