Local News in Brief : Hidden Hills Cancels Election, Appoints 3

Share

The April 8 Hidden Hills City Council election has been canceled because of a lack of interest.

Only three people filed to be candidates for the three council positions to be filled this spring, and no others applied when the filing deadline was extended, City Clerk Jane La Croix said Wednesday.

Council members agreed Tuesday night to appoint the three would-be candidates to the unpaid positions. Alana Knaster, Chris Van Peski and Warren McCamet will be sworn in April 21, La Croix said.

Knaster and Van Peski are incumbent council members and serve as mayor and mayor pro-tem, respectively, in the gate-guarded city, which occupies 1.4 square miles at the western edge of the San Fernando Valley.

Colleen Hartman, a 16-year veteran, is not seeking reelection.
