Venice Group to Give Away Trees
The Venice Action Committee, a group dedicated to improving the historic coastal community, will distribute thousands of young fruit trees to residents this weekend.
The trees will be given away from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Rose Avenue and 3rd Street. The trees, donated by a nonprofit organization known as Tree People, are part of a community beautification project.
The committee also plans to repaint the old Venice City Hall and renovate the pavilion at the foot of Windward Avenue.
