Hotel Guest Shot in Hollywood

A guest at the Hollywood Hotel, 5825 Sunset Blvd., was shot in the chest this morning during an apparent robbery attempt in his ninth-floor room, police said. The male victim, covered with blood and dressed only in his undershorts, staggered onto an elevator and was found by another hotel guest who got on the elevator at the sixth floor.

That guest, who was a former ambulance company paramedic, applied first aid as the elevator descended to the first floor. Police said they are looking for two suspects, a male and female. The victim underwent surgery for his wounds at a nearby hospital.
