The Los Angeles Harbor Commission has backed plans for a “Fishermen’s Wharf” in San Pedro. The wharf’s cost of $34 million would be borne by a joint venture company made up of local fish markets and commercial fishing boat owners. It would be built on 15 acres near Ports O’ Call Village. The wharf would have an open-air market for fresh fish and produce and an area where tourists could watch fishermen clean and freeze their daily catches.
