Fourteen people are being held on suspicion of kidnaping a woman who said she was detained in a Sepulveda apartment over the weekend and threatened with rape and death, Los Angeles police said Monday.

The woman, who was not identified, told police she was abducted at gunpoint Friday afternoon as she waited in her car at a traffic light on Van Nuys Boulevard, Officer Morris Batts said.

The woman said she was taken to an apartment in the 15200 block of Rayen Street. She escaped Sunday night while her abductors were in another room discussing her fate, Batts said.
