China Officials Accused of Poaching Animals

PEKING —
Military and Communist Party officials in China’s southwestern Yunnan region have made fortunes from illegally killing and trading in protected animals, the China Daily said Friday.
It said the officials had traded in elephants, wild oxen, tigers, leopards and monkeys, despite specific orders protecting them.
