NHL Roundup : Quebec Wins in Overtime, 5-4

Mike Eagles scored with 1:32 remaining in overtime to give the Quebec Nordiques a 5-4 victory over the Boston Bruins Thursday night at Boston.

The win moved the Nordiques, who snapped a two-game losing string, within two points of the Adams Division-leading Montreal Canadiens.

St. Louis 7, Montreal 4--Kevin LaVallee and Bernie Federko scored 2:40 apart as the Blues had four second-period goals to beat the Canadiens at Montreal.

Gino Cavallini had two goals for the Blues, and Mark Hunter scored his 42nd for Montreal.

Philadelphia 7, Toronto 4--Mark Howe had two goals and four assists, and the Flyers scored three goals in the final period to down the Maple Leafs at Philadelphia.

Ron Sutter’s goal 4:13 into the third period broke a 4-4 tie, and the Flyers added goals by Lindsay Carson and Ilkka Sinisalo.

N.Y. Rangers 5, Calgary 2--Pierre Larouche and George McPhee each scored a pair of goals as the Rangers rallied to beat the Flames for their first victory at Calgary in three seasons.

The Rangers, who last won at the Saddledome on March 12, 1983, end both the Flames’ five-game winning streak and their own three-game skid.

New Jersey 7, Detroit 2--Kirk Muller had two goals and two assists to lead the Devils past the Red Wings at East Rutherford, N.J.
