Computer software maker Ashton-Tate reported that its earnings rose by 93% in the fourth quarter and by 121% for the full year. Revenue was up by more than 52% for the three months ended Jan. 31 and by 47% for the year. The company credited the improved results to consumer acceptance of its two newest products, dBase III Plus and Framework II, increased penetration into foreign markets and its $22-million acquisition late last year of MultiMate International.
