Ninth in CC’s packages of previously produced children’s films, this 36-minute tape contains three stories about the futility and dangers of envy and greed. The Danish/Czech - produced “Ugly Duckling” is not as sentimental as some other versions, but is more faithful to the original story. Better are the less familiar “The Swineherd” and “The Stonecutter.” The animation is not as lively as American kids are used to, but each more than compensates with distinctive visual styles and musical scores.
