Bobby Walden, former NFL punter, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a man at his home in Bainbridge, Ga., last Friday.
Walden, who played for the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers after starring in college at the University of Georgia, is accused in the shooting death of Andrew Faison of Bainbridge.
According to Decatur County Sheriff E.W. Phillips, Walden looked in his back yard Friday night and saw Faison in Walden’s car. An altercation ensued, and Faison was killed, the sheriff said.
Walden is free on $5,000 bond. His case is scheduled to be presented to a grand jury on May 5.
