Pacoima Man Jailed in Kidnaping of 4-Year-Old Girl
A 35-year-old Pacoima man was jailed Sunday in the kidnaping and apparent molestation of a 4-year-old Mission Hills girl who was taken from her bedroom and later found wandering along the Simi Valley Freeway, police said.
James A. Hamby, an acquaintance of the girl’s family, was arrested after the girl identified him as her abductor, Los Angeles Police Lt. Dennis Dunn said.
Police said the girl was taken from her bedroom late Saturday night by a man who grabbed her through a window.
A motorist discovered her wandering along the freeway near De Soto Avenue in Chatsworth at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Dunn said.
Hamby was booked on suspicion of kidnaping and child molestation. He was jailed in lieu of $320,000 bail.
