UCSD Rallies for Three in Ninth to Win, 4-3

UC San Diego scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday afternoon to defeat Southern California College, 4-3, in a nonconference game at UCSD.

Brian Rude and Jim Nicoliason led off the inning with back-to-back doubles to make cut Southern California College’s lead to 3-2. An infield single by Gary Fessia and squeeze bunt by David Stonvich tied the game, 3-3. Fessia went to third on a bunt single by Don Peterson and scored the winning run on a wild pitch.
