Bank Robber Gets $1,300: A man who robbed a bank Thursday fled on foot with $1,300, eluding a police dragnet that was set up for several hours after the incident, officials said. At about 12:53 p.m., a man described as a white male in his early 20s entered the American Savings Bank at 1961 N. Tustin St. and demanded money from several tellers. The man, carrying what may have been an automatic handgun, bolted out of the bank and was last seen running toward a nearby flood control channel. Witnesses said the brown-haired robber was wearing a blue sweatshirt, light jeans and white tennis shoes.
