Huntington Beach : Several Businesses and Homes Are Vandalized

Vandals fired slingshots and broke the front windows of several homes and businesses in the northern part of the city Friday night, police said.

A motive for the vandalism is unknown and there are no suspects, Police Sgt. Larry Miller said. No one was injured, he said.

Miller said five residences and one fire station were hit about 9 p.m. An employee at Antonio’s Italian Restaurant, 16871 Bolsa Chica St., said the restaurant’s front window also was struck.

A steel ball bearing was found at one scene, Miller said.

The fire station at 5891 Heil Ave. was hit, as were homes on Sunburst Lane, Woodstock Lane, Littler Drive, Pilgrim Circle and Adams Avenue, Miller said.

Police received reports about the vandalism at 8:44 p.m., two calls at 8:54 p.m., 9:03 p.m., 9:42 p.m. Friday and the last one at 7 a.m. Saturday, when residents woke up and saw the broken glass, he said.

No damage estimate was immediately available.
