A Gracious Sequel

On Feb. 2 your section carried a Memorable Vacation article by the Rev. Ron Ditmars. The story climaxed with the hitchhiking student from California getting a lift in spring 1966 from maestro Zubin Mehta, who was en route to Salzburg, Austria, to conduct a concert.
Sequel: The Mehtas saw the story and invited Ron and his wife to drive up from their home in Englishtown, N.J., and enjoy Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion” as guests in the Mehta’s box on March 1 at Lincoln Center.
