SEEQ Technology, San Jose, named J. Daniel McCranie president and chief executive. E. Floyd Kvamme, previously chief executive, becomes chairman, succeeding Frank J. Caufield.

Caufield, who remains a director, said the moves complete SEEQ’s previously announced management succession plan.
