Coach Peter Wall was tossed out of the game for “violent behavior” and the Lazers set a Major Indoor Soccer League record for penalty minutes Monday when they were beaten, 8-2, by the Steamers at St. Louis.
Los Angeles (13-33) set league records by absorbing 12 penalties for 30 penalty minutes. St. Louis (22-24) capitalized on the infractions to score an MISL-record seven power-play goals, including five during the closing period.
Wall was ejected at 11:28 of the fourth quarter after earlier ejections in the same period of Lazer forward Willie Molano, Lazer defender Cle Kooiman and Steamer forward John Nebo Bandovich.
