Anaheim : Officials Urge Drivers to Use Alternate Routes

Drivers who use Harbor Boulevard in the city may want to take an alternate route to avoid traffic tie-ups, officials said.

The street has been narrowed to one lane in each direction from Broadway to Ball Road during construction.

Field engineer Dave Nelson urged motorists to use Anaheim Boulevard as an alternate route to avoid heavy congestion. Also, all southbound vehicles requiring a high vertical clearance (10 feet) must use an alternate route during the construction period, which is expected to end by July.

The construction involves the installation of a water main, construction of a raised median, new sewer lines and resurfacing of the roadway. The $1,511,066 project began in mid-January.
