An all-star baseball club from Nicaragua will compete in a league in the Los Angeles area this summer. Andy Liberman, a freelance writer who has been trying to bring the team to the United States for the past couple of months, said he was notified by a Nicaraguan spokesman in Washington that the team definitely will compete.
Several Southern Californians, Liberman said, are working to raise funds for the endeavor. Team members will be housed in private homes. Money is needed for the team’s air fare, Liberman said.
