The leadership of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest Men’s service organization, plans to ask its members to approve the admission of women, officials said Friday.

“We have a definite obligation to provide an effective, satisfying outlet for women who have meant so much to out service efforts over the years,” Lions’ World President Joseph Wroblewski said.

He said women members would be eligible to vote and hold office. A vote on the matter is planned for July at the international convention in New Orleans.
