Fullerton Set to Meet UCLA in Basketball

Share

Cal State Fullerton’s basketball team will meet UCLA for the first time and will play host to two of this season’s NCAA tournament participants during the 1986-87 nonconference season.

The Titans travel to Pauley Pavilion to meet the Bruins on Dec. 30.

Washington, the Pac-10 runner-up, and Pepperdine, the West Coast Athletic Conference champion, will play in Titan Gym.

“I think it’s safe to say it’s the most difficult and challenging schedule we have had during my (six-year) tenure at Fullerton,” Titan Coach George McQuarn said. “And it’s probably the best schedule in the history of the program.”

Fullerton also plays road games at the University of San Diego, which was 12-1 at home this season, and at Texas Tech, which won the Southwest Conference tournament.
