Reds Win Season Opener

CINCINNATI —
Eric Davis and Dave Parker rocked Steve Carlton with home runs today to catapult the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League’s traditional season opener.
Davis’ three-run homer in the second inning helped Mario Soto survive an erratic performance and earn his fourth consecutive opening-day victory.
