Bartkowski’s Agent Meets With Rams, Says Progress Made Toward Agreement

Free-agent quarterback Steve Bartkowski’s agent met with Ram officials again Tuesday and said: “We hope to have something wrapped up by the end of the week.”

Leigh Steinberg said another meeting with Ram vice president John Shaw and general counsel Jay Zygmunt was scheduled for Thursday.

“We’re making progress,” Steinberg said. “It’s just a matter of honing few details.”

Bartkowski, 33, was released by the Atlanta Falcons last year after 11 seasons. After he tried out for the Rams and had his surgical right knee checked by a team physician last week, Coach John Robinson indicated he would like to sign Bartkowski to compete with Dieter Brock for the starting assignment.
