Pico Rivera : Revamped City Hall to Open

Share

City hall is expected to reopen by May 1 after a $1.1-million renovation and expansion. Several offices have been enlarged, and an elevator and ramps for the disabled have been added to the split-level building in the 6600 block of Passons Boulevard. Also, there is new carpeting and furniture throughout the 23-year-old facility.

City staff has been working out of nearby Mary Meller Junior High School for nearly a year during the remodeling. To create more room at the city hall, the Parks and Recreation Department has been moved to the former General Telephone building, known as the Service Center. The city purchased the building, about two blocks from city hall on Passons, several years ago.

The phone number for city hall will remain 942-2000. Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
