Motorcyclist Killed: A Mission Viejo man died after the motorcycle he was riding sideswiped a car late Tuesday night. Marcus Schwegler, 22, was dead at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said. The driver of the car that Schwegler struck, Chris Gosgrove, 25, also of Mission Viejo, was not charged, Officer Jim Smith said. Schwegler was reportedly riding his motorcycle about 60 m.p.h. east on Los Alisos Boulevard near Madero when the accident occurred. The motorcycle careened into a raised median, throwing Schwegler into a granite light pole and inflicting fatal injuries, the CHP said.
