NORCO — A suicidal man who was barricaded inside a friend’s house fired several shots at Riverside County sheriff’s deputies before he finally surrendered Wednesday, officials said.
Earl Sue, 40, who had recently returned from Texas and had been living at a friend’s house, called the Sheriff’s Department about noon saying that he was going to shoot himself, Lt. David R. Russell said.
After deputies went to the house in the 2700 block of Valley View Avenue in Norco and spoke with Sue by telephone, he fired eight or nine rounds in their direction, Russell said.
A special negotiating team persuaded Sue to come out of the house about 4:30 p.m., Russell said.
