A station wagon hit a cow on U.S. 395 near Susanville, went out of control and slammed head-on into an oncoming tractor-trailer rig, killing four Victorville residents, the California Highway Patrol said. The collision 25 miles southeast of Susanville claimed the lives of the station wagon driver, Robert Lane, 51, and passengers Lola Lane, 45, Norman Relaford, 58, and Anita Relaford, 56.
