A murder suspect on Los Angeles’ first most-wanted list issued last year has been arrested by FBI agents in Chicago, where Los Angeles police officials expect to initiate extradition proceedings. Donald Robert Womack, 36, was arrested at a downtown Chicago bar, where he had agreed to meet an FBI clerk posing as an old girlfriend. Womack has been wanted in Los Angeles since 1975 on charges of shooting to death James Mash, a business associate. He is also charged with assault on former Los Angeles Police Officer Anthony Mailley, who suffered minor injuries when Womack allegedly ran him down as he fled the scene of the murder in a car.
