A Palmdale woman was raped by an intruder who set the woman and her apartment on fire, authorities said. The 24-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was in fair condition with second- and third-degree burns over a third of her body, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. Investigators were looking for a transient, identified as James Robert Scott, 23, in the crime and the April 1 attack on a 38-year-old Palmdale woman, who was raped, beaten and cut.
