Master’s Uses Power to Sweep Doubleheader

The Master’s, showing some late-season power, lashed out 20 hits in the first game and nine in the second to sweep a nonconference doubleheader, 11-7 and 8-7, at Claremont on Thursday.

Matt MacArthur led Master’s in the first game, going 4 for 4 with two doubles, two runs batted in and three runs scored. Adam Dennis was 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Master’s (19-25), while teammate Tim Kane was 3 for 5 with two RBIs.

Tony Dello, who was 3 for 3, got the game-winning RBI in the top of the sixth inning of the second game when he singled in Andre Richner and Adam Dennis. Kurt Thielen (2 for 4) smashed a two-out, bases-loaded triple in the fifth inning to tie the game at six.
