SUSPICIONS ANEW

Share

Alfred Hitchcock’s 1941 “Suspicion” is getting the 1980s “packaging” treatment in a PBS “American Playhouse” remake--with Jane Curtin and Anthony Andrews standing in for Joan Fontaine and Cary Grant. According to Lindsay Law, Playhouse exec producer, the project was put together by Barry Levinson, a friend of Andrews, and Patrick Lynch, Curtin’s husband.

Shooting is set to start next month in Bath, England, with Britisher Andrew Grieve directing. Curtin is an American living in England (Fontaine played English in her Oscar-winning performance).
