Quakes Hit Northern India; At Least 2 Dead

NEW DELHI —
An earthquake registering 5.7 on the Richter scale rocked northern India on Saturday, and reports said two people were killed and at least 30 were injured in the Himalayan foothill region.
Quakes and tremors were felt in northern Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab states, the national seismological office in New Delhi reported. United News of India said that the strongest quake struck the area around Dharmsala, in Himachal Pradesh.
