A 21-year-old inmate from San Bernardino County was stabbed as he was being escorted past a row of cells by two guards, Folsom Prison officials said. William Phelps, serving a two-year, eight-month sentence for escape, was wounded in the abdomen by a prison-made spear that was thrust through the bars, according to a prison statement. Guards identified John Hahn, 28, as the attacker. Hahn, from Alameda County, is serving a term of 25 years to life for first-degree murder. Phelps was being treated at the University of California Medical Center in Sacramento.
