San Juan Capistrano : Riley to Be Target of a Benefit Roast

County Supervisor Thomas F. Riley will take his lumps Friday night as the target of a benefit roast at the El Adobe Restaurant.

James Roosevelt, a former California Democratic representative and a watchdog of the Social Security system, will be master of ceremonies for the affair, sponsored by the H.O.S.T. Committee for the benefit of the Adult Day Health Care Center in San Clemente.

Roasters will include state Sen. Marian Bergeson (R-Newport Beach) and Anthony DiGiovanni, former mayor of San Clemente.

Others include Peggy Weatherspoon, director of the county Area Agency on Aging; Clarence Nedom, chairman of the countywide Senior Citizen Advisory Council; Herb Schwartz, Leisure World representative; Rex Tyner, founder of San Clemente Seniors, and Robert Price, former manager of Leisure World.

Msgr. Paul Martin, pastor of the parish church at Mission San Juan Capistrano, and Msgr. Anthony McGowan of Our Lady of Fatima Cathlic Church in San Clemente also are scheduled to attend.

H.O.S.T. official Barbara Metcalf said the program will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be $35 each.
