Wiesel to Be Chairman of U.S. Holocaust Council

TOKYO —
Dr. Elie Wiesel, who has written extensively about the fate of European Jews during World War II, will be named chairman of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, the White House announced Saturday. Wiesel, professor of humanities at the University of Boston, is a member of the council.
