Ten purported members of a cocaine-trafficking ring operating out of houses in West Covina, Rowland Heights and Huntington Park were named in a federal grand jury indictment returned in Los Angeles. In breaking up the organization, law enforcement officers seized 280 kilograms of high-grade cocaine, more than $2.4 million in cash and numerous firearms, according to the government. Those indicted were identified as Ernesto Hidalgo Guzman, Evaristo Valasquez Lopez, Dolores Bojorquez Arajo, all of Rowland Heights; Manuel Flores and Leal Elezar Beltran, both of West Covina, and Juanita Guerrero Uriarte, Patricia Grijalva Lopez, Victor Carrera Grijalva, Olga Celaya Grijalva and Antonia Guadalupe Valesquez Lopez, all of Huntington Park.
