Beverly Hills : Veteran English Teacher Dies
Ruth Wheeler, an English teacher at Beverly Hills High School from 1938 to 1966, died April 25 at her home in Leisure World. She served as chairman of the English department from 1944 to 1966 and was an executive board member of the Southern California Teachers of English and the National Council of Teachers of English. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English at UCLA and a master’s in comparative literature at USC.
