Fullerton : Transient Charged in Murder:

Scott Michael Katzin, an 18-year-old transient, has been charged with murdering the wife of a Los Angeles police detective. The badly decomposed body of Marie Andrea Malmgreen of Brea was found near Cal State Fullerton on April 29, wrapped in a blanket in the back seat of her 1981 Cadillac. Malmgreen, 38, was last seen near her home on April 22. Fullerton Police Lt. Richard Foisy said Katzin was charged Friday with first-degree murder under special circumstances, which carries with it the possibility of the death penalty. Katzin, who has a history of juvenile offenses, is being held without bail at County Jail.
