Chancellor to Be Honored: Jack W. Peltason, chancellor of UC Irvine, will receive an honorary degree and will be the featured speaker at Chapman College’s commencement exercises May 25, the college announced. The college will award 199 master’s degrees and 459 bachelor’s degrees. Peltason will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree. Chapman College will also continue its tradition of “regraduating” members of the graduating class of 50 years earlier. This year, 24 of the 61 members of the Class of 1936 will be on hand in caps and gowns to march with the 1986 graduates. Chapman President G.T. Smith will present them with special certificates to commemorate the occasion.
