Fullerton Splits Pair in Softball
Cal State Fullerton, the No. 1 softball team in the nation, split a doubleheader with 10th-ranked Cal State Long Beach Saturday in the last game of the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. regular season. The Titans lost the opener, 4-1, and won the second game, 3-1.
Titan pitcher Susan LeFebvre (28-6) gave up eight hits in the first game and took the loss. The 49ers’ Sandy Winchester (18-4) held the Titans (22-5-1, 50-9-1) to four hits.
In the second, Fullerton’s Connie Clark (16-2) struck out eight on her way to a three-hitter. Alani Silva had three hits and three RBIs. Kim Lee (10-6) of Long Beach (18-9, 35-16) was the loser. The Titans advance to the NCAA West Regionals Friday.
