The State : Liu Slaying Suspect Held
Tung Kuei-sen, accused in the 1984 slaying of Chinese-American journalist Henry Liu in Daly City, is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City after extradition from Brazil. Tung and 13 co-defendants, all alleged members of the Taiwan-based United Bamboo Gang, face federal racketeering charges in a trial set to begin July 9, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Anne T. Vitale. One of the acts of racketeering cited against Tung is Liu’s murder. The suspected gunman in Liu’s death, Tung will face a murder trial in California after completion of the federal trial in New York.
