Petting Zoo Animals Killed Police on Wednesday were continuing to seek suspects in the killing of 20 small animals at an elementary school’s petting zoo. “We have a couple of names we’re looking into,” police Lt. Jim Walker said of Friday’s incident in which 15 rabbits and 5 chickens were apparently beaten to death. He said the killings are the second in a month at Golden View School. The killings were discovered by students who arrived before class to care for the animals. Walker said the rabbits and chickens appeared to been have tortured and then beaten with chains. “This has nothing to do with the occult,” Walker said, but rather may have been the work older youths who congregate on the school grounds late at night to drink beer and smoke marijuana.
