Human Life vs. Lives of Animals

I can only hope that John D. Liechty (Letters, May 4) truly excels in his life.

Personally, if I owed my life to the death and suffering of thousands of animals, I’d prefer not to be alive.

I don’t believe that I am so special, that I can save my life at the expense of others.

It’s not right. It has never been right. It never will be right.

There is no way you can justify it. And I hope I never get so conceited and self-righteous to think otherwise.
