Former Ku Klux Klan leader Thomas Metzger will no longer be able to film his controversial “Race and Reason” broadcasts on the California State University, Fullerton, campus. Cable franchise operator, Group W, said it plans to relocate its public access taping facilities, which Metzger has used, from the campus to Group W’s central office in Fullerton. For weeks, Cal State Fullerton students have been staging demonstrations against Metzger’s use of the public-access television equipment that Group W had provided the university in exchange for building space. The protests began last month when the campus newspaper published a story about the little-known tapings, which have been going on for two years. Metzger, of Fallbrook, said the move would pose no problems, but that he would miss the controversy. The protests and stories, he said, have generated “a lot of mail and applications for membership.”
