Sweden Favored to Win World Team Tennis Cup

DUESSELDORF, West Germany — Sweden, the Davis Cup champion, is favored to win the $500,000 Ambre Solaire World Team Tennis Cup, which starts here Monday, for the first time.
Led by Mats Wilander, the world’s No. 2-ranked player, Sweden will face Czechoslovakia, Australia and Switzerland in the Blue Group.
The United States, the defender of the cup, will square off against West Germany, France and Argentina in the Red Group.
The winners of the two groups will meet in the final of the clay-court event which serves as a major warm-up for the French Open.
