Batus plans to sell 39 Kohl’s Department Stores.

Batus Inc., the huge London-controlled retailing and consumer goods conglomerate, said the stores are all in Milwaukee. In addition, Batus said it will sell some Gimbel stores in Milwaukee and Pittsburgh. The company said it plans to sell 93 stores in eight states as part of a previously announced restructuring. Batus has said it will keep Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, Marshall Field’s in Chicago, Ivey’s-Carolinas and Breuners in San Francisco.
